Egyptian Evening Dresses and Gowns

A fantastic museum-quality Egyptian assuit hammered metal cotton-net dress dating back to the early 1930's. Egyptian fashion was all the rage during the 1920's and 1930's with the discovery of King Tut's tomb. Garments made out of this fabric was luxury commodity. These shawls were traditionally a cream color and were draped over a bride at her wedding as they held great monetary value being adorned with the precious metal. Imagine the wealth of a lady who wore a garment fully made from this rare texture. The early 1930's Egyptian cotton is a rich black/darkest brown net with dramatic ruby-red trim. The bodice has a front peek-a-boo slit and wonderfully long sleeves. I love that iconic metallic geometric deco motif throughout. This figure flattering garment accentuates the bust, skims the hip and flares out below the knee in a slight bias-cut. It is impeccably seamed and on the level of modern day couture.
