Murray Arbeid 1980s Fitted Draped Pink Silk Bubble Hem Gown
About the Item
With an eye for drama, Murray Arbeid was best known for his sumptuous evening wear. His private client list included; Diana, Princess of Wales, Princess Alexandra, Queen Noor of Jordan, Estee Lauder and the romance novelist Danielle Steel. In 1985 he showed his autumn/winter collection mid air somewhere over the Atlantic ocean on board a Continental Airlines flight from London to Houston. Passengers were startled to see models swaying down the plane's narrow aisles while a BBC film crew recorded the event.
From the over the top 80s, pink silk is diagonally shirred to form a strapless gown with a fitted bodice/torso, lined and boned inside, it finishes in a exaggerated bubble at the hem. Devastatingly divine and over the top. With the original matching wrap.
In excellent wearable condition. All our clothing is dry cleaned and inspected for condition and is ready to wear. Any condition issues will be noted. For visual comparison our mannequin is a size 4.
