About the Item

A curious and beautiful pair of bronze curtain hangers or tiebacks, from the late 19th century, featuring a medal bearing the effigy of Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1819-1861). It is believed that this medal may have been a commemorative object for the Great Exhibition of 1851 at the Crystal Palace. The obverse of the medals depicts the left profile of Prince Albert, surrounded by a laurel wreath, and above it, the inscription "His Royal Highness Prince Albert." They have bronze rods that are used to attach to the wall and allow the pieces to be hung, as they separate the medal from the wall by about 5 cm. This type of medal was usually minted to commemorate important events or prominent figures, in this case the Great Exhibition at Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, London, in 1851. The purpose of this exhibition, conceived by the Prince Consort himself, was to showcase the latest advances in art, engineering, and science in Great Britain, as well as in other countries. This exhibition was a success and attracted millions of visitors, promoting the dissemination of European culture and science. Vintage Frances Necklace Beige and bronze stone with antique bronze Cesarée
By Cesare Paciotti
Located in VALLADOLID, ES
Amazing necklace by the French house Césarée, made in the 1990s. The piece is composed of multiple chains of beige jasper natural stone beads cascading from a rigid antique bronze ring. At the lower ends of these chains, there is a polygonal metal bead with ethnic decorations. The focal point is a large central stone medallion, adorned with a triangular bronze decoration of small circles with embossed patterns. The combination of the stone's hue with the warmth of the patinated metal creates a visually rich contrast, making it an ideal accessory for any outfit. The House of Césarée, Originality and Ethnic Taste Césarée was founded in 1980 in Paris by jewelry designer Laurence Coupelon. Her constantly evolving creations range from pure ethnic inspiration to distinctive haute couture jewelry, combining natural materials with bronzed or silver-plated metals. Her originality and distinctive style have made her jewelry house not only a household name but also a highly recognizable style, establishing it as a benchmark for ethnic jewelry in the European fashion world.
