Chinese Qing Pair Hand Painted Peking Glass Onion Shape Vases
About the Item
A fine and unusual pair antique Chinese Qing Peking glass vases finely hand decorated with landscape panels dating from the 19th century or possibly earlier. The vases are blown in an opaque colored glass standing on a narrow round foot and with a round onion shaped body and tall narrow necks. Rge vases are made in thick glass with pear shape panels to either side hand painted with mountainous landscapes to one side and with the figure of a boy playing a flute riding on the back of a water buffalo to the opposite side. The decoration is finely detailed and the vases are not marked.
Provenance: acquired in the British Art Market.
In good condition with wear associated with age and use.
