Chinese porcelain cockerels, c. 1890. Qing Dynasty.

About the Item

Pair of Chinese porcelain cockerels, c. 1890, Qing Dynasty. Both cockerels modelled standing on rocky bases, and their boldly decorated feathers in famille rose enamels. Their combs and wattles painted in overglaze red enamel. Height – 21 cm, 8 1/4”. Width – 13 cm, 5 1/8”. Depth – 7.5 cm, 3”. Condition – Typical wear to the overglaze enamel on the combs and wattles. No damage. No restoration.
