Foo Dogs Chinese Sancai Architectural Roof Tiles

About the Item

Foo Dogs Chinese sancai architectural roof tiles in green and mustard / orange shades. Antique Chinese lion guardians (also known as "Foo Dog") statues are frequently seen in Chinese architecture, and they are typically positioned at the base of roofs. The Han Dynasty (206 BC–AD 220) in China is where foo dogs first appeared as lion representations. Since then, the Chinese guardian lion sign has become widely recognized around the globe, with its protecting qualities thought to exist. The lion's sides and the top of its head are adorned with dark green and burnt orange embellishments and the ceramic tile is completed in a glossy glaze. Four spikes have chipped off points and a few chips and nibbles, view photos. Comes with 2 separate thin wood bases to position them on.
