Meiji period large Japanese Imari bowl centerpiece
This large, distinctive, octagonal porcelain Imari bowl is painted in rich, inky blue, copper, orange, red and green. It's elegant, geometric structure focuses on an elaborate floral arrangement surrounded by eight panels of stylized garden scenes and leafy medallions. The underside is decorated in a repeated garland pattern each centered with a chrysanthemum. All artwork is tastefully embellished with applied gilt decoration.
