Vintage 19th C. French Breakfront Cabinet
About the Item
Solid mahogany with birdseye maple veneer on exterior; stepped molded cornice with egg and dart gilt wood trim; Corinthian gilt wood pilaster capitals, gilt brass hardware and window trim; two adjustable shelves behind two glass doors in upper cabinet; two drawers over two doors with one adjustable shelf in lower cabinet; new glass in upper doors; full dustboards at drawers, plinth base; entire piece comes apart for ease in moving; locks at drawers note “Fichet a Paris”; very good condition, one piece of gilt wood trim is loosely attached and has gilding loss at base and window trim (easily repairable), minor lifting and splitting or chipping of birdseye veneer, small chip at bottom door from normal wear; small veneer chips/ repairs well done.
