Antique Meiji Era Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Plate

About the Item

An antique Japanese, Meiji era, enamel plate or charger. The interior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome enamel image of a butterflies, blossoming flowers surrounded by traditional foliate scroll, floral, and geometrical on the turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The borders are decorated with insect, floral, and foliage patterns made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with a foliage ornament on the beige ground made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked. Circa: 18th century. Antique and Vintage Asian Collectibles, Oriental Enamel Chargers and Plates, Home Decor And Collectibles. OVERALL GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION. SIGNS OF WEAR AND AGE.
