About the Item
An antique Japanese Meiji era enamel over copper charger plate. The exterior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome scene with an eagle standing on a rock and cranes flying over waves on a turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The border features a traditional scaly motif. The backside is decorated with a scaly ornament made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked. Circa: the late 19th to the early 20th century.
