Japanese Style Four Panel Screen Manchurian Cranes in Pine

About the Item

Captivating 20th century Japanese style byobu four-panel folding screen. The screen is titled ancient pine/longevity cranes signed on left side with an artist seal Ying Jun. The screen depicts two white Manchurian cranes in an ancient pine with a cyclical date 1982, early spring. Ink and color natural dye pigments on a gilt silk style ground. The screen is set in an ebonized lacquer frame with a gold silk brocade border. The top of the screen has geometric design Asian brass hangers on each panel. Fine intricate craftsmanship signed with artist seal and date from a collector in San Francisco, California.
