Pair of Antique Chinese Lacquered and Gilt Decorated Wood Door Panels
About the Item
Tall black lacquered carved door panels with two large decorated shaped sections above and below in gilt and dark red, framed by smaller floral ones. The top panels illustrate pavilions amidst trees with various figures, one on horseback, as well as a group of figures making music outside a pavilion. The lower panels with female figures and attendants on terraces. Inscriptions on the backgrounds. With bronze pulls on the center floral panels.
H. 78 1/4", W. 18 1/2", Depth 2"
Condition Time-worn overall with craquelure on the decoration, damaged tops and bottoms with losses front and back however the Door Panels present very well. Please see the photos for details.
