About the Item

A pair of boldly brushed Rice Paper Calligraphy Panels having a particularly fine Asian presentation. One panel with 10 Calligraphic characters and the other with 4 and both with red seal/ chop marks. Housed in custom Ebonized frames with frames having Ivory tone mats by the iconic artist and gallery owner Mark Humphrey with locations in South Hampton and New York City. Mr. Humphrey is a celebrated artist and gallery owner who actually started his business by producing the custom frames for his clients works as well as his gallery offerings. Both with Mark Humphrey Gallery labels attached. Dimensions: 54” high by 1.10” deep by 20.6” wide. Condition: Please see detail photos. Both of the panels have various signs of age and use including old water stains to the bottoms showing on the mats and backing paper, torn backing paper, chips and nicks to the frames with some old touch ups. Despite the wear the Pair present in a particularly fine and commanding presentation.
