About the Item
A truly wonderful, original woodblock print by Japanese Sosaku-Hanga artist Toshi Yoshida, son of famed master printmaker/artist Hiroshi Yoshida. This work is titled "Castle at Himeji" (Sometimes known as "Oshiro - The Himeji Castle"). Himeji Castle is in the Hyogo Prefecture. The castle complex had 83 buildings. It is also referred to as the "White Heron Castle" because of its shining white walls. It was registered on UNESCO's World Heritage list in 1993.
The print is titled and signed by the artist in the lower margin.
The complex design and vivid colors make this a special work. Would make a great addition for collectors of Toshi's work or Japanese Sosaku Hanga artists or an eye-catching accent work in about any setting.
