Chinese Censer Mid-Century Bronze with Asiatic Lion and Gilt
About the Item
Bronze and gilt detailing combine to make this Chinese censer a beautiful decorative cast bronze accent. The bowl and cover are cast with various objects, small and bright like a fish, with other lucky auspicious objects and characters that connote good fortune like longevity and prosperity. The bowl is surmounted with a cover that includes a lion with an open mouth and gilt touches. There are interesting decorative touches that surround the bowl, like the finely produced serpent or dragon handles.
This is inspired by earlier bronzes from the Ming and Qing Dynasty. It measures
