From Our Recent Japanese Acqauisitions Travels A large and attractive Japanese antique hand painted blue and white ovoid form vase with three (3) Koi and bamboo motif dating in the early 20th century. Signed Fukagawa. Beautiful vibrant colors. It is signed on base with the mark of of Fukagawa. Dimensions: Big, Height: 16 inches tall and 11 inches diameter Fine quality. Provenance: old southern Japanese collection About the porcelain house: Fukagawa The Fukagawa Family, which lit its first ceramic kiln in 1650, founded its own crafts company FUKAGAWA-SEIJI in 1894. The company was awarded the Grand Prize at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris, and in 1910 FUKAGAWA-SEIJI was appointed official purveyor to the Japanese Imperial Household. Making all materials, glazes and paints internally from their initial composition down to their finishing touches, this unique company has the largest expert workforce in all of Arita, with seven of the nation's most qualified traditional technical artists producing the world's greatest-quality porcelain. Wes have been dealing in authentic Japanese ceramics and ancient Chinese and Asian antiquities, garden ornaments, lanterns and water basins for 25 years. Our president personally travels to Asia, China and Japan each year to meet his network partners who assist him in finding best examples.
