Pair of Burmese Monks in Prayer, Buddha, in gilded wood XIXth century
About the Item
Importante paire de moines priant en bois laqué et doré. Ils sont en pendants, ils ont en effet chacun leur tête légèrement inclinée l'une vers l'autre. Leurs tailles sont exceptionnelles puisqu'ils mesurent respectivement 108 et 114 cm de hauteur.
Leur longueur est de 124 cm environ et leur largeur de 80 cm environ. La patine est très intéressante, elle est nuancé d'or et de noir et reflète sublimement la lumière, complétée par des perles en verre . La sculpture est de belle qualité avec des détails ravissants de broderies dans les parties du drapé. A noter également que la sculpture est visible de toutes les faces, taillée dans des morceaux de bois massif. Les paires de ce type de sculptures de grande taille et de surcroit de belle qualité sont rares sur le marché

- Condition:Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. These items are in good condition, very heavy and very strong, not brittle. The patina is golden and lacquered, with visible wear due to age, which adds a lot of soul to these two sculptures.
