About the Item

A 19th Century pair of andirons, also known as firedogs. They are French Neoclassical bronze andirons. Andirons are used in fireplaces to support logs and improve airflow for the fire. Material: Bronze Style: Neoclassical, featuring ornate detailing with scrollwork, shells, masks, and urns, topped with palmettes and supported by lion paw feet. Function: Used in pairs to hold logs in a fireplace. Measure 9" in width x 8" in depth and 27" in height.
