19th Century George Washington Cast Andirons- A pair

About the Item

These exquisite George Washington andirons, dating back to the late 1800s or early 1900s, are a testament to American craftsmanship during a pivotal era. Cast in sand iron, they feature a stately structural form with lavish, ornate early Victorian styling. Each andiron portrays one of our esteemed Founding Fathers, George Washington himself—a symbol of courage, leadership, and the birth of a nation. Imagine these andirons gracing the hearth of a historic home, their patina telling stories of countless fireside conversations, political debates, and family gatherings. As you place logs on the fire, consider the echoes of history—the Revolutionary War, the drafting of the Constitution, and the forging of a new identity for the United States. These highly collectible pieces have been sought after by collectors and history enthusiasts alike. Their presence in your home connects you to a time when ideals were forged, battles were fought, and a fledgling nation emerged. Both andirons were recently sandblasted and coated in a high heat finish that will protect them for decades to come. Both andirons are in great condition, with the front piece securely mounted onto the fire dog portion. Will ship separately due to the weight of each andiron. P
