About the Item
Pair of hand-wrought andirons by Architectural firm of Maritz and Young, firm that designed many of the most prominent homes in the early 20th century in St. Louis. These are from architect W. Ridgely Young's personal residence, circa 1920s and shown in a period photo in The architecture of Maritz and Young monograph Vol. I. Original metal finish with patina and no paint.
