We use solid surface material, DuPont Corian, which you already know and trust — it’s been used for countertops for 50 years. Solid surface puts the ‘awe’ in awesome: waterproof, non-porous, no color fade, easy to clean, hygienic, fantastic colors, paintable, reparable, nontoxic, UV resistant, Class A Fire Rating, Greenguard... > Durable - Corian® keeps its good looks and survives the impact nicks and cuts that can occur with daily wear and tear. > Tough - Since its introduction, Corian® has proven itself to be remarkably durable, a versatile material that is easy to live with in both domestic and commercial environments. Corian® cannot delaminate, the joints are inconspicuous and fluids cannot penetrate. > Easy-to-clean - Corian® has a non-porous surface that prevents dirt and stains from penetrating the material. Marks and stains stay on the surface and can easily be removed with a Scotchbrite® pad and household cleaner. > Nonporous - Corian® is nonporous and hygienic. Its smooth surface does not allow liquids to penetrate and that makes it easy to clean. Bacteria and mold have nowhere to take root. When Corian® looks clean, it really is clean. > Repairable - Corian® surfaces are renewable and inherently environmentally friendly. Heavy stains and scratches can be erased without a trace simply by rubbing with household cleaner. Who can install MR Walls? Our assembly logic allows our puzzled pieces to be installed by a general contractor, tile and stone setters, finished carpenters or certified fabricators. Are MR Walls waterproof? Yes, They Love Being Outdoors or Wet. Our exterior facades, water features, and poolside elements aren’t bothered in the slightest by rain nor snow nor heat. Pieces that have lived outside our studio for years still look brand new. Schedule a studio visit and come see for yourself. We’ve even done exterior facades in Florida — so the material and connection system are approved for hurricanes! Hard to top that endorsement, so we’ll just stop. How fast can this be scaled to my project needs and produced? Designed in Los Angeles, Produced Globally. What is the thickness of MR Walls? The etched and multi-dimensional texture varies in thickness from 1/4" to 1/2" inches or 6mm or 12mm. Are MR Walls easy to clean? Yes. Solid surface looks new for a long time and is easily maintained by using a mild abrasive liquid cleanser with a damp sponge or cloth. This gentle washing visibly removes low-level scratches. Acid drain cleaners may cause surface damage and should not be used on solid surface. Unlike other surface materials, stains or marks caused by cigarettes, alcohol, food, lipstick, hair dye, shoe polish, iodine, marking pens, etc. can be removed. Whats the value? Second to None in Wow-Per-Dollar. We don’t advertise a square-foot price — because we literally can’t. Solid surface is sold in sheets, and we have to buy the whole thing even if your design only uses part of it, so per square-foot varies. Our Standard line is robust, more than forty fantastic designs. Chances are one of them will speak to your project. Still want something off-menu? Contact us to discuss a Custom design phase to plan exactly what you want. Step Two: Tell Us About Your Project We just need to basics to start: the dimensions, whether it's Standard or Custom (you don't even need to know which Standard at this point, they all cost the same), what color material if not white, and if you envision it backlit. Any other details are helpful but not necessary now. Step Three: Quote Straightforward. We send you a quote based on what you've told us, along with any considerations or questions we have. Sometimes we will ask if there is any wiggle room in your dimensions, if we think it will make more efficient use of material (and therefore money.) Step Four: Shop Drawing The first view of your project taking shape. We create a shop drawing that lays out how the design will look within your dimensions, along with any cutouts or other considerations. A great time to discuss adjustments or ideas, before production. Step Five: Production And away we go. After we have established delivery window and received the payment, we create the Production File and precisely mill the pieces of your project so they will fit together perfectly with inconspicuous seams. Step Six: Shipped to Your Site When milling is complete, each 'puzzle piece' is labeled with where it fits in the project, and the pieces are securely flat-packed or crated for safe travel. These pieces only fit together one way — but to eliminate trial and error on site, we include a clear diagram showing how the labeled pieces go together. Step Seven: Installation The (more) fun part! Your project comes to life as it is installed piece-by-piece before your eyes. With our puzzle piece assembly logic, this takes a fraction of the time of tile or stone.
