About the Item

A rare Arts & Crafts copper coal, kindling, or log box by William Soutter & Sons of Birmingham (1760–1928). Circa 1890. Expertly crafted in hammered copper with a tapered form, it features striking decorative panels on both the front and back. The box is topped with a large, hand-crafted handle on the lid, while the sides are adorned with elegant lifting handles. Rivet details add to its refined design. A rare example of the craftsmanship and aesthetic of this period, it remains in good condition for its age, with minor wear to the bottom corners, as shown in the photos. Perfect for storing coal, kindling, or small logs.
