Beautiful 18th century French Louis XV fireback with the arms of France and two pillars topped by Fleurs de Lys (French Lillies). The arms of France include the crown (symbolizing royalty), three Fleurs de Lys (symbolizing the purity of the aristocracy) and olive branches (symbolizing peace and victory). The date of production 1792 is also cast in the fireback. This means that the royalty minded fireback has been produced during the French Revolution. The arms of France have been partially truncated for that reason probably shortly after is has been produced. The condition is good, no cracks. This product weighs more than 65 kg / 143 lbs.
