Fabulous Antique English SIGNED Brass and Copper Adam style slantfront Coal Hod

About the Item

A gorgeous Antique English SIGNED 19th century Adam style hand-chased slope fronted Coal Hod with makers disc for Henry Loveridge & Co. (Wolverhampton). The coal hod retains its galvanized liner and original wooden handled copper shovel. The Adam style hand chased neoclassical panel is handsomely made in contrasting copper set within a brass frame. The details of the slopefront are excellent (see images). The coal hod has various small dings as it is well-used but in fine, age-appropriate condition. There is one end of the coromandel original handle that is missing its brass end piece on one side and is only mentioned for condition accuracy. This piece would be perfect for a fireside hearth for kindling or next to a chair for magazines or newspapers.
