Early 19th century French Louis XIV style fireback with the pillars of Hercules. The pillar refers to the club of Hercules, his favorite weapon. It symbolizes strength and the unknown. The date of production of the fireback 1808 is also cast in the fireback. The fireback is made of cast iron and has a natural brown patina. Upon request it can be made black.
