Pair of George III Pierced Brass Footman Trivets, England circa 1800

About the Item

Pair of George III Pierced Brass Footman Trivets, England circa 1800 A fine and decorative pair of English George III period brass footman trivets, circa 1800. Each piece is constructed with a pierced brass top of foliate design and ventilated sides, raised on elegant cabriole legs to the front and simple wrought iron supports to the rear. Though differing slightly in detail—one with a scalloped edge and side handles, the other with a plain rim—they are of matching size and clearly from the same maker or workshop. These versatile and charming hearth pieces were traditionally used beside the fireplace to keep plates or kettles warm. Today, they serve equally well as decorative stands or side pieces in period interiors. Dimensions: Height: 34 cm Width: 33 cm Depth: 33 cm Condition: Good antique condition with light surface wear and signs of age. Brass tops have been gently polished. Structurally sound.
