A large antique arts and crafts style carved oak fire mantel, reclaimed from a large country house near Petersfield, Hampshire. With its handsome dark oak finish, this antique fireplace is a striking feature for a period property. Evocative of the arts and crafts era, the frieze is ornamented with seven hand-carved panels displaying stylised foliage and flowers accompanied by column supports to the jambs. You can just imagine it at the heart of a main room of a country property or period style townhouse with a roaring fire beneath.
