Bespoke Carved White Marble Fireplace Surround with Caryatid Figures
A striking and finely carved white marble fireplace surround, designed in the classical style with full-length female caryatid figures and a central mask surrounded by ribboned swags and floral ornament. Executed with precision in crisp white marble, this surround displays exceptional craftsmanship and sculptural presence.
Commissioned as a one-off for a London townhouse in the late 20th century but never installed. Comprising eleven separate sections, including mantel shelf and hearth.

Overall: 158 cm wide x 35 cm deep x 122 cm high
Aperture: 85.5 cm wide x 87.5 cm high
Condition:
In good condition with light surface wear consistent with storage and handling. Minor nibbles and surface marks in places. A repaired crack is visible to the base of one caryatid support, stable and shown in the images.
