A good quality French Louis XVI style fireplace in Breche Violette marble. The scrolled, stop-fluted jambs adorned with acanthus leaf Ormolu, surmounted by rectangular ormolu paterae and beading. The panelled, shaped frieze with Ormolu beading throughout and swags to centre block. Moulded shelf above. A substantial piece in good quality Breccia, French, 19th century.
