About the Item

A fanciful early 19th century Italian terracotta fountain from Tuscany. In neo-Renaissance style, as shown in the photo, the artist's initials I B are engraved. The fountain rests on a solid circular base depicting four large crabs, on which four carp gush water, shells and two individuals standing supporting the large basin with two heads of flying fish gushing water, in the center a Venus emerges surrounded by a dolphin.
