Our Ancient Surfaces team recently reclaimed this extremely rare statuary fountain. The story behind this masterpiece is that in the mid 1700s a team of Italian master carvers were tasked to create an exceptionally phenomenal limestone fountain for a noble Milano family estate. After 8 months of hand-carving they completed the job by creating a very unique and large pool fountain with its centerpiece a museum-grade statue embodying history, strength and glory. Doing so, they also brought the Pre-Olympian “Atlas” back to life. Currently, this gorgeous and Fully operational 25.5' diameter 10.3' high grand fountain is one of the most distinguished items listed by our Signature division which deals with the rarest and most exquisite of private collection architectural elements in Europe. Whether installed in the courtyard, garden, or any spot within the mansion, this jaw-dropping chateau-grade masterpiece will perfectly fit in any noteworthy milieu, guaranteed to serve as the ultimate center of attention. Meticulously hand-carved down to the tiniest detail, this select item represents a melange of skill, devoted passion, beauty, and a very refined taste in fine art. The concept, the theme, the majesty, the character, the feel, the colors, the natural aging, and every finely engraved detail within this exquisitely rare-find makes it full-of-life in every sense of the word. It's quite a mesmerizing experience to wake up each morning to this epitome of regency and mystic elegance; reliving a profoundly captivating feeling on a daily basis. Front and center is the pre-olympian Atlas condemned by Greek mythology to hold the world and skies. Water spouting from the top of the globe through a metallic-pipe overflow, pours evenly towards the base while fully showering the intricately carved body. Four wrought iron spigots generously spit the water back towards the center. 4 cast iron sea shells and 32 ancient mini globes gracefully decorate the limestone base. When it comes to color, undertone and texture it is strikingly clear that this masterpiece is aged to perfection. The blend of dirt, rust, and rain provided by nature throughout the years, mixed with the natural limestone, volcanic basalt flooring and wrought iron gave this marvelous hand-carved piece of wonder a more vivid set of colors and a bolder, more lively character. This Exclusive piece is assembled in over 17 crates and ships in a 40FT container.
