About the Item
Large pair of mid-century modern iron patio and garden dining chairs attributed to Mario Papperzini for John Salterini. The tall chairs have an iconic design with a square back inset with lattice iron strap work and topped with gilt ball finials on the corners. The chairs are very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The iron finish has been repainted with gilt ball finial accents. The seat is supported by straight legs conjoined by star shaped stretchers. The chairs have a dramatic neoclassical profile made on a large scale. Price is for the pair. From an estate in Hollywood, CA. Seat cushions with tie backs are included. Seats measure 20 inches with cushions.
