Italian 19th Century Giltwood and Faux Painted Marble Pedestal

About the Item

A spectacular Italian 19th century giltwood and faux painted marble pedestal. The pedestal is raised by a beautiful scalloped shaped base with a Rocaille and lattice design. Between each leg are large scrolled acanthus leaves and a central seashell reserve. At the center is a charming and richly detailed cherub with curly hair draped in a wonderfully carved flowing fabric. The cherub stands seemingly holding up the circular faux painted marble display tier above.
