About the Item

This is a vintage piece of pottery by designer David Cressey for Los Angeles based mid-century manufacturer Architectural Pottery (owned by Max and Rita Lawrence). The pot measures 12" high by 13" diameter at the opening. This piece is from the 1960s. It is part of the Pro/Artisan series, and it is the single leaf pattern. The glaze color is referred to as "Rust" in the catalog. There is no water drainage hole, but we can drill one at the buyers request. It is in original condition. David Cressey was hired by Architectural Pottery in 1961 as both artist in residence and production chief. Cressey's pots introduced more texture in their designs, and his pieces were known for their handmade feel.
