Rare Minimalist 'Caslon' concrete planter by Swiss designer, Bruno Rey, 1959

About the Item

Minimalist 'Caslon' concrete and steel planter designed by prominent Swiss interior architect and furniture designer, Bruno Rey in 1959. Bruno Rey (* 1935 in Brugg, Switzerland; † 2017 in Gebenstorf, Switzerland). Made in Switzerland ca. 1959 - 1965. Produced by Eternit AG, Switzerland. Solid concrete main planter with drainage holes. With original under plate and four legged steel base. Dimensions: 52cm x 52cm x 48cm In original vintage condition with heavy patination. Wear consistent with age and usage. There is a small chip to the base drainage plate as shown in the photographs, although this could easily be rebuilt if required and is only visible from one side. There is also rust to the steel base. Again, this could be easily stripped back and newly powder coated to freshen it up. Or left as is in it's current vintage state. Dimensions: 52cm x 52cm x 48cm
