A visibly old mortar soured from rural Java & crafted from a solid teak wood slab. A raw and organic object with beautiful wood textures and imperfections. A versatile decorative object to bring warmth and life to any space, despite its once utilitarian function to remove risk husks during harvest. It has a great weight to it. This mortar is hollow through its core, from more than 100 years of wear (highlighted in the last image).
