This striking Art Deco floor statue is a large-scale bronze reproduction (56" tall) inspired by Demetre Chiparus's iconic 1920s masterpiece "Starfish." Standing nearly five feet tall, this sculpture exudes sophistication and surreal beauty, embodying the grace and allure of the era.
The female figure is adorned in an intricate ensemble of embossed swirls, sea stars, squid, and other marine motifs that sweep across her form with remarkable detail. These oceanic elements elegantly veil her, particularly over the private areas, creating an artful balance of sensuality and refinement.
Her head is tilted downward in serene contemplation, and her short bob haircut—an emblematic style of the Roaring Twenties—frames her peaceful expression. Though only her face remains uncovered, the texture and movement captured in the flowing bronze design suggest the fluid grace of a sea nymph.
