The jockey is classically dressed in the 19th century riding attire, comprising of a black riding hat, red jacket and cream jodhpurs. The jockey is poised on a moulded plinth base, with one arm raised, holding out for use as a hitching post for tying up horses for grooming. He would be holding a stirrup or lantern which is missing.
