About the Item

A theatrical stained glass window depicting a winged mythical figure, from the workshops of British stained-glass artist, Sax Shaw. Beautifully made using glass in shades of purple, red, blue and green, this contemporary stained glass window panel centres around an unusual mythical figure with a dramatic grotesque face, horned head and great wings to its back. It will make a striking feature piece in any property, the colours bringing a room to life when flooded with daylight. Sax Shaw (1916-2000) Yorkshire-born watercolour, tapestry and stained glass artist, Sax Roland Shaw, studied at Huddersfield before moving permanently to Scotland where he attended Edinburgh College of Art. During his career, Shaw became one of Britain’s most influential post-war stained glass artists.
