Antique Mirror Panel Waste Basket, 1980s USA
About the Item
Incredible 1980s waste bin with a unique design involving slender panels of mirror conjoined together around the entire body of the bin. Metal body with "P & K Products Company, Elgin Illinois" imprinted on the base. Mirror panels show great patina and blackening which occurs naturally over time when water vapor makes its way in between the glass and the metal layer that makes mirrors reflective. Once this happens it causes the metal to oxidize and blacken. This gives the waste bin its one of a kind patina. Interior of bin is a shiny metal finish. Good vintage condition.
