About the Item

Place this large, colorful antique stand at your front door or in your mudroom to collect umbrellas, canes or other accessories. Created in England, circa 1930, the burgundy iron bucket with top and back handle features a beautifully hand-painted coat of arms. The front of the bucket proudly displays a richly detailed heraldic crest, centered around a red shield with a stylized green tree issuing from a coronet, flanked by two majestic stags. Above the shield, a stone fortress with three towers rises prominently, the central tower crowned with a crescent moon and star, symbolic elements often associated with vigilance and enlightenment. A ribbon below bears the Latin motto: "Virtuti Post Funera Virtus", which translates to “Virtue after death is true virtue”, emphasizing enduring honor and moral legacy. Painted in deep burgundy and accented with gilt and earthy tones, the bucket is a striking example of both functional craftsmanship and decorative artistry from the Georgian period.
