About the Item
This is an old container woven from straw. Over the years, it has turned black with soot.
It is thought to have been used in a private home in the Tohoku region, but its exact purpose is unknown.
It has a lid, so it may have been used as a container for storing something.
It is slightly sooted in places, so it may stick to your hands, but it has been left as is to some extent in order to preserve the changes that occur over time. Please use it with this in mind.
I think that things that have unintentionally changed into artistic expressions naturally have value.
It is also recommended to use it as a figurine to decorate a space, or as a flower vase.
