About the Item

Pierced metal cocktail tray, with a brass trim and snaking handles by Mathieu Matégot. Matégot was a French designer and architect, who studied in Budapest. Whilst he was held captive in Germany during the war, he discovered the material ritigulle which was a fine perforated metal sheeting. Ritigulle went on to play a central part in Matégot's furniture design, often combined with metal tubing.
