About the Item

19th century French glazed earthenware kouglof cake mold from the Alsace region in Northern France, circa 1880s. This yellow ware Bundt cake mold is made of terracotta and is used to bake the delicious yeast base cakes, often with raisins, that Alsace is known for. This distinctive circular Bundt cake mold diffuses the heat evenly and can be also be used for baking savarin, brioche, or charlottes. The light yellow color is more rare and harder to find than darker molds. Kouglofs can also be used as fruit or vegetable bowls and will add a bit of French country charm to any kitchen.
