About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown pink, white, gold flecks and controlled bubbles Italian art glass sculptural seashell bowl. Documented to designer Alfredo Barbini. The piece has a white outer layer that is covered in gold leaf, with the inside in a soft pink, with controlled bubbles "Bullicante" technique. The gold on the inside layer clings to each of the bubbles making them stand out. Would make a great display piece on any coffee table, dresser or shelf. Use it as a catchall, candy dish, or just display it as a sculpture. May be a great piece for a Coastal, or Ocean themed room. Mid-century era. Measurements: 8 7/8" long x 5 1/2" wide x 3 1/4" tall. I have added a photo of the very tip of the shell. This is not damage, just how the glass was cut to finish the piece.

Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
