About the Item

Silverplate over brass bowl designed by architect Richard Meier for Swid Powell, referred to as the Cross Bowl, made by Plata Lappas, Buenos Aires for Swid Powell. Unlike the larger Cross Bowl and most of the other smaller Cross Bowls (same size as this model) whose bases are fixed, this is the rarer version that can rotate on the base. Examples of this design can be found in the Museum of Arts and Applied Sciences in Sydney Australia and the The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
