About the Item

Titled 'Disko' this ultra rare hand-blown olive green glass bowl by Per Lütken was made in 1961. The name Disko has nothing to do with disco. In fact the name was inspired by the reflections of light Lütken experienced visiting Diskobugten/ Disko Bay in Greenland during the early to mid 1950s. Much like Just Andersen was inspired by the same phenomena and named his metal alloy after it - Disko. This particular example is the largest in the series. Measurements: W: 26 cm, H: 13 cm. Hand-edged by the designer (PL) and dated 1961 to the bottom. Free World wide express shipping.
