About the Item

Handkerchief bowl/vase designed by Fulvio Bianconi for Venini, Murano. This fazzoletto bowl features zanfirico glass with lattimo white netted vertical cane and light blue ribbons, showcasing a technique dating back to the 16th century in Murano. Venini's utilization of this technique is extensively documented in "Paolo Venini and His Furnace" by Marino Barovier and Carla Sonego. The piece is crafted from colorless glass with blue 'zanfirico' glass rods. and was made in the 1950s, remaining in mint condition. The base of the Handkerchief bowl/vase bears an original paper label, serving as assurance to the buyer of its authenticity. This label remains intact, underscoring the genuine nature of the piece. Fulvio Bianconi, born on August 27, 1915 in Padua and died on May 14, 1996 in Milan, was an Italian painter and glass artist. Bianconi was one of Paolo Venini's foremost glassblowers and worked at the company from 1948.
