Japanese porcelain footed bowl with cobalt decoration, 1800's

About the Item

Traditional, vertical sided porcelain footed bowl with a bold diapered pattern in cobalt underglaze blue on the interior rim which centers on a swirling trefoil wave design. The exterior has a running vine around the circumference. The underfoot centers on a cobalt underglaze chop within a glazed bullseye and double cobalt line along the outer edge of the underfoot. Japan, early 19th century.
