About the Item

A truly unusual piece of art is this large – actually enormous – hand-thrown bowl from ceramic, very much in the style of Noomi Backhausen, I dare say with a dash of Pablo Picasso too! Beautiful decorative and impressive, the head of the Medusa in a classic mid-century colour scheme with beiges, blues and dark caramel brown, I locate it to late 1960s to early 1970s of the Netherlands. One-of a kind studio ceramic by Ambacht Volendam, Netherlands. Marked by the artist ''Ambacht Volendam'' and (possibly) ''M K''. Hand signed. Immaculate condition. The colours might appear slightly lighter in the main image.
